Diabetien welcomes people with diabetes, family members and supporters. Citizenship is free, takes only a few minutes, and concludes with the issue of a federal passport. The passport is equally valid in all four sectors; sector papers have not existed since 1979.

“Diabetes since” has its own entry in the passport. The year alone is enough; an exact date is not needed. This entry is optional for family members and supporters. “Issued on” is always the day the passport is created.

Citizen's Oath of the Republic of Diabetien

“I pledge to know my value, to respect it, and, when I lose it, to return calmly. I do not promise a straight line. I promise to stay in range as often as I can.”

For family members and supporters, the oath is a promise to offer support.

The passport has three pages and is valid for ten years from issue. It is a fictional document for Diabetien, not an official identity document.

Dual citizenship

Diabetien does not require anyone to renounce another citizenship. Those who leave remain citizens of Diabetien abroad and keep their passports.

Register sector and residence

The register sector identifies the responsible administration, not your place of residence. You are free to live, work and stay in any sector. Federal citizenship continues after a gestational registration ends.
