What the authority is responsible for
Travellers may carry a limited amount of table sugar duty-free. Every import of Dextro Energie must be declared; no person may possess more than 46 grams.

Birthday allowance
Up to 500 grams of household sugar per person may be carried duty-free in passenger luggage.
Embargo and declaration requirement
Commercial Dextro imports are banned. Declared personal imports are allowed if total private possession remains at or below 46 grams; the limit does not restart at each entry.
Dextro Energie is prohibited
Private possession remains limited to 46 grams in total. Only officially released reserves are exempt from the use ban. A court decides afterwards on an individual defence of necessity.

The customs tariff governs import duties. The Sweetener Free Trade Act prohibits duties and quantitative restrictions on approved sweeteners.
